The Dropa Stone Biography

                                    THE STORY

"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
                        - Ralph Waldo Emerson

THE DROPA STONE is a groove-based rock quartet that takes audiences and listeners on a diverse musical journey, weaving a landscape of melodic-visually enhancing music. Jon Meyers (Vocals/Guitar), Joe Lederman (Drums) and Justin Henry (Guitar) have applied their talents to create an imaginative avant-garde rock sound through a common bound of passion, creativity and inspiration. Mining a wealth of influences from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd to Soundgarden and Incubus, this band possesses the versatility to meld together several musical styles at any given moment. Combining a tapestry of rock, funk, blues, reggae and jazz, their fresh and unique sound is highlighted by melodic-powerful vocals, spacey/textured guitars and an inventive, technically adept rhythm section.

Entering the studio with noted producer Justin Thomas, The Dropa Stone's six song debut was recorded as a trio and released in June 2008. The E.P. received significant praise from several producers and music critics, including Ron St. Germain (Tool, 311). With a must-see live show featuring extended jams and surprise collaborations, breakthrough singles burning up FM radio, this band breaks the conventional rock formula with an “outside the box” debut.

Guitarist Justin Henry joined the band as a permanent member in November 2009 and the new lineup debuted on a tour of the west coast which saw them perform at renowned venues such as The Viper Room in Los Angeles, CA. The band recently announced they would begin preparations for a new studio album, with tour dates to be announced shortly after completion. Look for an impressive national showing in 2010 from The Dropa Stone.
